Hi, I'm Lakshan.

I graduated with a First-Class Law degree, went on to complete a Master's in Law, and I now work in a City law firm — with a training contract in progress. How does the 1:1 tutoring actually work?

Every session is 60 minutes with Lak on Google Meet — always recorded and sent to your child within 24 hours. Book a free 15-minute Trial Lesson first if you want to see if it's the right fit. Then pick a package: Single Session £45, Paper Course £395 (6 sessions for one paper), or Full Programme £995 (6 months, weekly sessions across everything). WhatsApp support between sessions comes with every package.

Is the pricing reasonable? What am I actually paying for?

A private A-Level Law tutor in the UK typically charges £30–60/hour with no notes included. LawByLak tutoring works out to £45/hr on the Full Programme (6 months, weekly), and includes all 30 revision modules free (worth £1,499.70 standalone). The Paper Course (£395 for 6 sessions) is £65/hr including notes — still competitive vs. tutors charging £50-80/hr without notes. Single Session at £45 lets your child test the fit before committing.

Can we try a session before committing to a package?

Or Single Session £45 is a full 60-min tutoring session on any topic — your child keeps the LawByLak module for that topic afterwards. What if we book a package and it doesn't work out?

Any unused sessions in a Paper Course or Full Programme are refundable — email hello@lawbylak.co.uk and Lak handles it personally. Completed sessions and materials already delivered aren't refundable (standard for tutoring services). Cancellations must be at least 6 hours before a session to avoid the session counting against the package. Full refund terms on the refund page.

Do we have to book tutoring, or can we just buy notes?

Either works. Notes are £49.99 per topic standalone, or bundle up to 53% off. But honestly — the tutoring is where the real value is. Notes are the reference material; sessions are where Lak shows your child how to use them in the exam. That's the thing that moves a Level 3 answer to Level 4. Every tutoring package includes the notes free.

Is the content age-appropriate?

It's A-Level Law content — covering Criminal Law (murder, manslaughter, non-fatal offences against the person, property offences), Tort Law, and Law Making at the academic level required by the specification. The treatment is academic and case-based, identical to what your child's school textbook covers. No graphic content, no inappropriate material — just legal cases and principles at A-Level standard.
